Private Jet Safety – 6 Things to Check Before Hiring a Jet & Fly Serene!

Private Jet Safety

The general public is often worried about private jet safety.

Many people have heard about jet and small plane crashes and they tend to think that these planes and jets are unsafe.

The thing is though, the majority of such wrecks had nothing to do with the aircraft itself but rather it was a pilot error and in more self-owned planes than in any others.

Still, though, there are some things that you might want to understand in order to make sure that you are chartering the best jet for your safety and the safety of those who are tagging along for the ride.

All jet companies, even the private ones, are required to meet very strict standards from the FAA.

The problem is though that there are many companies who have found loopholes in order to save a few bucks, even if that means setting the private jet safety in the backseat.

Please note: If you are thinking of renting a private plane, keep in mind that Villiers Jets offers you a wide choice of jets for your business or leisure trips.

1. Check Out the Private Jet Company Reputation

The first thing that you should do is check out the company’s reputation in the market. It’s worthwhile to do your own analysis of the company.

If you are spending a bomb on your travel, quite naturally you would want to hire a private jet from a company that is highly rated and recommended. Check out whether the services provided are satisfactory, excellent, or just average.

You can examine a company’s reputation by doing a standard internet search. The results found should give you an idea about the company that you would like to do business with.

2. Take a Look at the FAA Certification for Private Jet Safety

In order to make sure that you are hiring a company that does stick to the FAA guidelines, make sure that you are asking to look at their air taxi certification from the FAA.

3. Check Pilot & Crew Experience

You also want to make sure that the pilot and the crew are perfectly capable of handling their job. Your pilot should have no less than 3,000 flying hours total, with no less than 300 hours for each specific aircraft, especially the one you will be in.

4. Private Jet Safety: Check Who’s the Pilot

You also want to make sure that the pilot for your jet is one that is within a known group of pilots for that company instead of an independent pilot that is contracted to come in for the flight.

5. Private Jet Safety: Get Proof of Insurance

Most people do not stop to think about asking to see proof of insurance when they are chartering a jet. The thing is though if the jet company lacks the proper insurance, they are probably lacking in many other departments.

Large jets should have at least 100 million in insurance, medium-sized jets should have about 50 million while smaller jets should have at least 25 million in insurance.

6. Check out the Private Jet Safety Measures

Although jet charter companies, by and large, give a lot of attention to safety and security, it is still advisable to check out the safety measures taken by the particular private jet company you have in mind.

Companies have information pertaining to their safety policies on their website. Perform a standard internet search about the company.

*********

As you can see, there is a lot you want to check into before you charter a jet. You simply cannot trust that the jet company is doing its job properly.

Do not assume that the pilot is doing everything correctly for the simple fact that his or her life is on the line as well. Some people are simply too cheap or too uncaring to do everything properly.

It should only take you a little bit of extra time to double-check everything about private jet safety.

If the jet company is not willing or not able to provide you with the information that you are seeking, it would be in your best interest to look into chartering a jet from another company.
